Psalm 44

It is natural for Catholics to interpret the queen in psalm 44 as referring to Mary. She is standing to the right of the king in ‘gold of Ophir’, reflecting Mary’s exalted position. The ‘palace of the king’ is heaven, to where Mary was taken body and soul at the end of her earthly life.
