Psalm 119 celebrates the beauty and wisdom of God’s law, rejoicing that his commands give understanding, light and true freedom to those who seek them with all their heart. On this Sunday, the psalm harmonises with Solomon’s request for a discerning heart and with Jesus’ parables of the treasure and the pearl, inviting us to recognise God’s word as the greatest gift and to shape our lives around its enduring value.
