Psalm 67(66): 2-3; 5; 6,8. R.2a

There are many Marian feast days during the Church Year. The calendar year begins with one such, with a clear link to Christmas. Psalm 67 is a prayer of thanksgiving and praise to God for his blessings and mercy. It is a fitting choice for this feast day, as this psalm celebrates the goodness and mercy of God, which Mary embodies through her role as the mother of Jesus.
