Psalm 145(144): 8-9; 15-16; 17-18. R. cf. 16

Psalm 145 praises the Lord who is faithful to his people, staying ‘close to all who call him’ and providing generously for every living creature. On this Sunday, the psalm’s themes of God’s sustaining care harmonise with Isaiah’s invitation to come and eat without price, and prepare us for the Gospel of the feeding of the five thousand, where Christ reveals the abundance of God’s compassion for all who seek him.
